cycleWhat do you do when you’re in Hong Kong, a destination known for its food and shopping, and your partner likes neither? When he suggests cycling, I am horrified. Not only is Hong Kong one of the most densely populated places in the world, it’s also extremely hilly. The streets are narrow and reckless bus and taxi drivers rule the roads. I couldn’t think of a worse place to cycle.

But we discover a bike trail: a flat, 25km coastal path which starts in Tai Wai in the New Territories, the swath of land which separates Hong Kong from mainland China. The trail ends in Tai Mei Tuk, a village that looks more like rural China than glitzy Hong Kong… click here to read more…
